About Étwa

I come from a small taluka — a place where life was simple, yet full of little joys.
My love for sarees began with my grandfather. He would travel far and wide, bringing home beautiful sarees for my grandmother. I still remember watching her unfold each one — all I understood was colors.

When I was ten, I secretly tried to drape one myself.
To my surprise, I did it well — and that small moment filled me with pride and happiness.
Somewhere in that moment, I fell in love — not just with sarees, but with the art of draping saree.

Growing up, being a fashion designer wasn’t something people from my small town often dreamed of. With heavy heart I choose engineering with a thought , I could earn money sooner.

Later, as an assistant professor, I wore sarees almost every day for first  four years in all seasons and sarees became my second skin — they made me feel confident, joyful and comfortable.

Life, however, had other plans. I took a break, learned new skills, and explored many different paths. But deep inside, one dream kept whispering to me — to return to the world of sarees and the joy they bring.

Over the years, I’ve draped sarees for brides on their big day, for little girls in school plays, for goddesses during Gauri-Ganesh festivals, and for women at baby showers and weddings.
And I noticed something — while women adored sarees, many struggled with them.
Heavy fabrics, rough textures, and complicated drapes often took away the comfort and ease that every woman deserves.

That’s how Étwa was born —
to create and curate sarees that are lightweight, flowy, and effortless, yet rich with tradition, artistry, and soul.

The Meaning Behind Étwa

The name Étwa carries the heart and purpose of our brand.
“Éth” comes from ethnic — a reflection of our deep roots in tradition, culture, and handcrafted artistry.
“Wa” comes from Nuwa, the goddess and mother of creation in Chinese mythology. She represents healing, protection, and creativity — just like every woman does in her own quiet, powerful way.

To make it truly ours, we added a soft accent to the “E,” turning it into É — a gentle sound that gives the name life, warmth, and identity.

Together, Étwa is more than a name.
It is a tribute to women everywhere — nurturing, resilient, and timeless.

Our Symbol

Our logo is deeply personal — an artistic reflection of the founder herself, draped in a saree and captured in a graceful yoga pose.
It represents balance and harmony:

Between tradition and modernity
Between movement and stillness
Between strength and serenity

At Étwa, every saree is designed to move with you — soft, breathable, and easy to drape.
Each piece celebrates the divine feminine — graceful, grounded, and glowing.

Because every woman is a goddess.
And it’s time she dressed like one — to awaken the goddess within.
